In Autumn 2024, it will be 10 years since I left on a plane for a new adventure with Raleigh International in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Life changing in respect that, when Damian and I returned after 4 months of volunteering and travelling we decided we were going to move and set up a new business for the future. I think the real life change happened when we sent in the application to become project managers for one of their expeditions really and we will forever hold those experiences as treasured times.
If you fancy a quick video peek, then head over to my video link. This still makes me emotional all these years later.
When I returned, how do you tell people what it was like and what you did in just a sentence or two. I knew I couldn’t, so I created a mini book and some photo albums that you can view online. If you come to stay at St Marks Stays, they are here on my book shelves also, so just ask if you ever want to see them.

You will also see my photobooks of Costa Rica and Nicaragua in the same bookstore.

I was also honoured to have the Guild of Photographers publish an article from me in their Creative Light Magazine about what it was like to be a volunteer photographer overseas.
If you would like to read a little on how we got involved with Raleigh and more about them, then our website will show you more.

People often ask if it was life changing and I can honestly say it was. I took only four months out of my life and business, but gained a lifetime of experiences, memories, friendships and a whole new outlook on life.
