In the second of the series on wedding tips and advice, this post is dedicated to the groomsmen. Tying your wedding cravat can suddenly seem a difficult task when the nerves hit on the wedding morning. The team at Christopher Scotney very kindly took me through the process, step by step. Now you can save this visual guide to tying your wedding cravat to share with all your groomsmen and have everybody looking the same on the day.
Hang the cravat around the neckline so that one side is longer than the other.Fold the shorter length around as though fastening a tie.Fold this same cravat end, back over the top again so it is ready to create the front knot.Take the cravat end under the knot so that it comes out at the top neckline.Thread the end down through the knot and pull down to tighten as required.Tuck the ends inside the waistcoat and pin the cravat for shaping. It is just like tying a normal tie but the knot size and shaping create the style.Thank you to Christopher Scotney for the advice on tying your wedding cravat. I know at some point, I may be called on to help with this.
