Steampunk Alice and Alice

I have seen Steampunk themes and Alice in Wonderland photoshoots captured many times before, but when Alison from Wonderland Weddings and Eloise from EK Bridal got in touch about a collaborative styled wedding photoshoot, they had so many elements that were exciting, I had to say yes. I am so glad I did!

The theme of ‘Steampunk Alice’ plays on the Alice in Wonderland theme, but is more punkesque with the style of Steampunk influencing it. We wanted to create a more edgy fashion style wedding shoot to show that other ideas are always possible for your wedding.

Having the use of two venues in Leicester, that have just been given their wedding license meant we were the first to shoot in them. Belgrave Hall and the grounds gave us a secret garden feel so we created Alice here.

Abbey Pumping Station, being a Victorian pumping station museum, inspired the Steampunk side of the shoot.

Thanks to Alison’s wedding accessories, Eloise’s bespoke, tailored wedding gowns and the amazing talent of hair and make up artist Laura Firth of Victory Rolls Hair Parlour, we came away with so many stunning images. So many that I am featuring this blog in two parts, with Alice first and Steampunk to follow.

A huge thank you to the team, our gorgeous models and Leicester Museums for the use of their fabulous new wedding venues and for involving me in this and helping to create something superb.
