I had the wonderful opportunity to pay a visit to see the Fairies at Trentham Gardens this month with my mum and my sister and can really recommend it. Obviously, Trentham Gardens is simply stunning and on the day we visited the September sunshine was out in full force and the lake sparkled, the colours were vibrant, the ice cream was delicious and the fairies twinkled in the sunlight.
So what are these fairies you may be asking. Well local designer Robin Wight has created 15 pieces of artwork that are fairies made of galvanised and stainless steel wire and they are placed throughout Trentham Gardens for you to find on a trail. The idea is genius and I had seen pictures of them before I went, but it was even better to search them out on the day and see them for real myself. They are so inspiring that my sister and I even bought a DIY mini fairy kit each, so it will be interesting to see if we can create something!
There is also the Giant Dandelion Installation created by Robin’s daughter, Amy Wight that features one of the fairies and a visiting fairy that is not on the trail list. I think this was the favourite for all three of us. I love the phone image taken of me in this area that makes me look like a tiny person.
Here are the names of the fairies and I’ll let you guess which name belongs to which fairy.
Titania, Spring, Spidy, Tree Crawler, Poser, Bridget, Swing, Tranquil, Glance, Helper, Shaky, Dip, Dandelion, Swoosh, Wishes and the visiting fairy is called Anahi.
