Creating Images

As a professional photographer, I know I am not alone in feeling that it is always important to be creating images that are sometimes just for you. Personal projects are invaluable and the springboard for many a previously unknown photographer getting noticed. Taking photographs that are from a personal idea, or simply from the heart because you can, are one of the joys of choosing photography as either a hobby, or a profession.

Being inspired, as any artist will tell you, it what makes you light up and produce your best work. For me, inspiration comes from all sorts of places and I thought I’d share with you some images that were recently taken with Spring in mind, but developed further. They were inspired by myself and my husband doing the spring trim in the garden. I actually loved the bits of plants that we were cutting off and decided to take them away and simply create some stock images from them. Combined with the fact that the blossom on our tree only lasts for a couple of weeks before the wind gets it, I knew it was time to take those photographs now.

My tips for your next creativity rush. Don’t put it off. Capture the inspirational mood while it is at its best. Don’t be afraid to push it further, or experiment. Don’t forget to show it as you never know who you might inspire.
