A Day in the Life of Designer Daisies Part Three

Having spent a morning with Katie as she collected and conditioned stem after stem of beautiful, fresh florals for the weekend wedding, I returned the next day to see her craft for myself.

Working in the back area of the shop, Katie took me through all aspects of creating the arrangements for her bride and groom. Working from a comprehensive set of notes from the initial consultation, the details are meticulous and the system very organised. The skills that Katie displays though, are a million miles away from being uniform. Each piece is hand crafted with a talent that is intuitive.

From the bridal party bouquets, to the button holes, table arrangements, pedestals and even thank you bouquets, each item is created and built up stem by stem. They are reviewed and considered and tweaked until they are perfect for Katie.

The attention to detail adds even more. The pins and ribbons, the bouquet boxes, the tags and even how the bouquets are stored and protected means every item is carefully maintained.

It was at this point that I left Katie to then start on the day to day work that keeps Designer Daisies as a much visited shop in the locality.

The final part on this series involves the delivery and setting up of the flowers on the wedding day.
