I feel that for any grandparent, I don’t really need to tell you the 5 reasons to get your grandchildren photographed, because I know you will dote on them, but here are some bonus reasons you might not have thought of.
1 They change so quickly
Capture those portraits while you can, especially at the younger age as they change so quickly as they grow up.
2 Kids make everyone relax
Most adults have a dislike of being photographed, but kids help distract you in a good way on a photoshoot, as they make you smile along the way.
3 You preserve the memories for them
Just as you want photographs of your grandchildren, when they grow up, they will want to see photographs of you, so this is a great chance to have mums and dads and grandparents in the images also without it feeling too pressured. The children love to see you being photographed also.
4 The inhibitions of children are priceless
The expressions, smiles and playing in front of the camera are absolutely priceless traits that children have that we often lose as adults. To “Be More Childlike” is a great reason to have a family photoshoot. Images don’t have to be you looking perfect all the time. Kids love it when granddad is silly for example.
5 You get to spend time together
Even if you are nervous about being photographed, just see it as you get to spend a couple of hours family time all together having fun. This is wonderful for everyone’s memories of family life and childhood.
